Minnesota Vikings against the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington, USA, 19 August 2011.

I wasn’t sure that there would be a season this year, so preseason is a bit of a relief. Though thankfully it seems it was preseason for me as well as it seems I’m a bit rusty shooting football. Here are some photographs from the Seattle Seahawks preseason home opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

I ended up photographing a CONCACAF match for a Guatemalan newspaper. Unfortunately, the Guatemalans lost the match. a red card and a few disputed calls made for a rough night. On the other hand, the Sounders played well in CONCACAF play. Here are some photographs from the match.

Sawtooth Music Festival in Stanley, Friday July 29, 2011.

I had the opportunity to photograph the Sawtooth Music Festival in Stanley, Idaho (http://sawtoothmusicfestival.com/music/). I don’t think I’ve had more fun shooting a concert. No three song limit. All great musicians and friendly people too, Set against the backdrop of the Sawtooth Mountains. It was great to have the access that I did. However, that access was was cut short by a massive thunderstorm that shut the concert down on the final evening. Undeterred, headliners Langhorne Slim performed at a local bar. Here are the pictures.

Photograph of shoppers walking in front of a Microsoft Store

Bellevue Square visitors walk in, out and past the Microsoft Store at Bellevue Square in Bellevue, Wash., Monday July 25, 2011.

My assignment was to get shots of the Microsoft Store in a mall. Though I had permission to photograph the outside of the store, I did not have permission to go inside and shoot. The story was about how the store compares to the Apple Store. I shot from several angles, however, the most interesting angle was from the floor. And this, to me, was the most interesting frame. I like the layers and serendipitous spacing between the people in the frame. All four people are in midstep. I also like how the Microsoft Store logo standouts out from the background. By shooting from the floor I was also able to clean up the background a bit, so that people could better be seen.
