The morning after the Pentagon awarded a multi-billion dollar contract to build the military’s next tanker, there was a rally with some of Washington’s congressional delegation, but I was not to cover it. Instead, I was at one of the company’s facility on Renton to photographer the vice president in charge of the next generation of 737 airliner. Mike Bair’s office was bare, literally. A paper sign on the door reserved the office for Mr. Bair one day a week. He normally worked out of Everett. The office was out for a picture. Fortunately, the building’s foyer had a promising background. While the writer was interviewing, Mr. Bair, I set up lights in the foyer and asked a receptionist to stand. I used my small light kit with a 1/2 CTO filter and underexposed the background to get a bluer sky. I only had about five minutes to make the pictures, but I think it came out nicely.
